'The Big Conversation' will be broadcast, released on DVD
Nearly 1,000 people attended the premiere of a local documentary on race relations last weekend and many more will have the chance to see it aired on local televisions stations next month.
"The Big Conversation" had its first showing to a packed Liberty Theatre. It examines the impact of the Bermuda Race Relations Initiative on the community through compelling interviews with a cross-section of people who have participated in the initiative.
Bermudian filmmaker Tim Darrell is the film's writer, director and producer. Rolfe Commissiong, Consultant to the Premier, is the film's executive producer.
So far the film has been shown free of charge at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute and Liberty Theatre.
Subsequent showings of the documentary are scheduled to air on ZBM-TV April 6 at 8 p.m., VSB-TV on April 10 at 8 p.m. and CITV beginning April 11.
In May, the Bermuda Race Relations Initiative will make interactive DVD's of the documentary, which will be available to the public.
