Armed Police arrested two men on Friday afternoon for alleged possession of illegal firearms.

As a result of ongoing Police investigations into illegal firearms on the Island, a 28-year-old St. George's man and a 27-year-old Pembroke man were taken into custody.

Sources revealed that the men were arrested in the Curving Avenue area around 1 p.m. on Friday.

Investigations are being carried out by a joint team offers headed by the Officer in Charge of the Serious Crime Unit, Chief Inspector Antione Daniels.

The men are expected to appear before the courts shortly.
