Was Rocsi looking forward to visiting Bermuda? You BET!

A double visit: BET's 106 and Park TV personality Rocsi, seen here in the Fairmoint Hamilton Princess, was on Island to host the second Dancer's Showcase at Ruth Seaton James Centre over the weekend. She is due to return to the Island this coming weekend to be part of Premier Dr. Ewart Brown's Farewell Gala.

BET star and host of '106 and Park' Rocsi visited the Island over the weekend to host a local dance showcase — and do some sunbathing.

Speaking to The Royal Gazette, she said: "This is my first time here. It's just a quick weekend visit. I was looking forward to enjoying some Caribbean food, watching some amazing dancing and doing a little sunbathing.

"Even if I don't get much sunbathing, there's still plenty of things to do. There's always something."

And she added: "I have heard about the rum. I've been told I have to be careful."

On Saturday, Ms Diaz hosted the Dancer's Showcase at the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium, which featured performances by Star Child, Bermuda Squad and International Street Dancers among others.

The show was delayed a week because of Hurricane Danielle, but wound up taking place hours after the remnants of Tropical Storm Fiona passed the island.

Regarding the storms, Rocsi said: "I'm from New Orleans. I know about hurricanes. I'm good."

Rocsi, who was born in Honduras and grew up in New Orleans, earned her shot on BET during a "New Faces" contest. At the time, she was working as DJ in Chicago.

While it was her first visit to the Island, it will not be the last. She and her co-host, Terrance J, are scheduled to return to the Island next weekend for Premier Ewart Brown's Farewell Gala.

The host, who was recently featured in a PETA campaign encouraging people to spay and neuter their dogs, brought her own dog to the Island with her.

"I brought my Pomeranian down for the weekend. He likes snorkelling and jet-skiing," she joked. "I'm going to try and find him an Island girl while he's here."
