Young woman guest worker 'serious' after bike crash

Crash scene: Police investigators mark off the scene of an accident in Pembroke in which a guest worker riding a bike was seriously hurt. The accident occurred at the junction of St. John's Road and Moore's Lane in the Spanish Point area yesterday afternoon and appeared to involve only one vehicle. The 24-year-old woman who was hurt was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and was last night said to be in a serious condition.

A female guest worker was in a serious condition last night after a road accident yesterday afternoon in the Spanish Point area.

Around 3.30 p.m. police responded to a single vehicle collision at the junction of St. John's Road and Moore's Lane in Pembroke, involving a 24-year-old motorcyclist.

It appeared that she lost control of her vehicle, however the exact circumstances are unclear at the time of print.

The Smith's Parish resident was unconscious and was transported via ambulance to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to be treated for head injuries.
