Armed thieves make off with cash
Police are searching for armed thieves who made off with cash in a brazen robbery at a Devonshire home on Friday.
The money was taken from five men socialising at the Tribe Road No 1 home.
No-one was injured in the incident, which occurred around 9.30pm.
Said a Police spokesman: “It appears that around 9.30pm that day at least two unknown men, one brandishing what appeared to be a firearm, entered the garage area of the home and demanded money from five men socialising there.
“The suspects are described as two black men wearing full-face helmets. They made good their escape with a quantity of cash.”
Officers were informed about the incident around 10pm. They were not able to find the suspects despite a “thorough search” of the neighbourhood with the assistance of a K9 unit.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
