Frazzoni reaches tennis doubles final

Bermuda tennis player Eva Frazzoni has reached the finals of the girls' doubles at the Under-13 Caribbean Championships in Suriname.Frazzoni and her partner D'Jeri Raymond, of Antigua, defeated Sharienne Ricardo of the Netherlands Antilles and Carisa Rodulfo of Trinidad and Tobago 6-2, 6-2 yesterday.In the semi-final, they beat Shaeda Nickle of Jamaica and Ashley Poulina of Aruba, 6-2, 6-2.In the girls' singles, Frazzoni was beaten 6-3, 6-3 by Antigua's D'jer Raymond and will now compete for third place.Nick Lines, in the boys' singles, was narrowly defeated by Shakim Caines of Aruba 7-6 (5), 5-7, 6-4, and will now play for a position no higher than fifth.William Way lost his consolation match to Joshua Worme of Barbados, the same player who defeated Lines in the round robin phase of the tournament. Way will now play for positions 13 to 16.In doubles action, Lines and Way continued their weather interrupted match from the previous day and needed one point to finish off the St Lucia team 6-3, 7-6 (4).They stayed on court to take on Bajans Andrew Symonds and Joshua Worme in the quarter-finals, but were defeated 6-2, 6-2.
