Bermuda slump to defeat

Guyana 2 Bermuda 1

Khano Smith's late strike was too little too late as Bermuda slumped to a defeat against Guyana at Providence Stadium.

Skipper Smith struck in the 89th minute with a powerful drive from distance but the damage, by then, had already been done.

Bermuda held Guyana to a goalless first-half but conceded twice in quick succession after the break.

Devarr Boyles' side, who lost to Trinidad on Friday in their opening World Cup qualifier, are next in action against the Soca Warriors at home on October 7.

Bermuda's starting XI: F Hall, S Darrell, D Tankard, K Tucker, R Lee, T Manders, S DeGraff, R Lambe, N Wells, J Barry Nusum, K Smith

Subs: C Caisey, D Ming, L Dill, Q Maynard, J Davis, T Bell, Z Lewis, T Burgess, R Trott, A Simmons
