OBA names election candidates
The One Bermuda Alliance this afternoon rolled out three candidates for the general election.
Party leader Craig Cannonier this afternoon announced Anthony Francis, Toni Spring and Trevor Moniz would all stand for the party.
Mr Francis, who will represent Devonshire South, is the IT manager for the Bermuda Post Office. He was previously director of Information Services at the Berkeley Institute.
He is also an executive member of the Bermuda Football Association and past president of the Bermuda Referees Association.
Mrs Spring was named as the candidate for Sandys South. She has taught for more than 16 years, mostly at Sandys Secondary School. She currently teaches at the Adult Education School.
Mr Moniz, a lawyer and veteran MP, will be running for re-election in Smith’s West, where he previously ran as a candidate for the United Bermuda Party.
Mr Cannonier said that more names would be announced in the coming weeks, representing people from all walks of life.
“Bermuda needs people to step forward to serve the larger community,” Mr Cannonier said. “Now is the time for this.
“In the weeks to come, the OBA will put forward a team of candidates who bring to the table optimism. They bring to the table confidence, experience and skills, and dedication to public service.
“They are committed to getting this Island working again, to making this country work better for the people who call it home.”
