HRC to host town hall-style roadshows

The Human Rights Commission is launching a series of roadshows to spread the word on its mandate, and how the law applies to everyone residing in Bermuda.

A spokesman said the Commission hoped to deliver a “town hall style” presentation of its work to members of the public.

Basic rights will be explained, along with the extent of protection under the Human Rights Act and what protection does not yet exist.

It will also provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions of the organisation.

Billed as “coming to a parish near you”, the first roadshow will be held tomorrow at Penno’s Wharf, St George’s, from 6.30pm to 8pm.

For more information call 295-5859.
