Ophelia now at hurricane strength

Winds, rain and rough seas are forecast to arrive late today as hurricane Ophelia bears down on the Island.

Now at Category One, Ophelia, 580 miles south of Bermuda this morning, was predicted to pass 135 miles to our east-southeast around 6pm tomorrow, and the Bermuda Weather Service last night issued a Tropical Storm Watch, with the possibility of winds reaching 34 knots in our eastern marine area tomorrow afternoon.
