Woman robbed at knifepoint

A 38-year-old woman was robbed by three men at knife point early this morning in Southampton.A Police spokeswoman said that at around 1am, the victim was riding an auxiliary cycle along Pompano Beach Road when she was accosted by three unknown men dressed in dark clothing, one wielding a bladed article.“The assailants took a black purse which held cash, a cell phone and personal items before making good their escape running in a westerly direction towards Spring Benny Road,” the spokeswoman said.“The victim sustained a minor injury which did not require hospital treatment.”An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the incident.A separate incident was reported to police just 15 minutes earlier in the Middle Road / Pompano Beach Road area with one suspect involved and no property taken. Police said they have not ruled out the possibility that the two incidents may be linked.The suspects are described as three black males, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s. Two of the suspects were approximately 5ft 7in, with the other being around 6ft 2in.Anyone who may have seen anyone matching that description between 11pm last night and 1am this morning in the Woodlawn Road/ Pompano Beach Road are asked to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit at 234-1010 or Crimestoppers at 800-8477.
