Ettrick Animal Hospital is trying to locate the owner of a small grey cat found injured on Crow Lane Wednesday night.Attila Toth said it appears the animal was struck by a motorcycle. The cat is currently in stable condition, but has suffered severe injuries and needs further treatment.“She cannot use her back half, which is obviously a major injury. She also has an injury to her right eye and some minor scars on her right side,” he said. “Usually at this point we would X-ray the cat, but at this point the bill has reached $370 and we need to know how we should proceed.“The cat is not malnourished or dehydrated, its fur looks healthy, so we believe that this is someone’s cat. Unfortunately we have not found any sort of tattoo that might help us find her owner.”Dr Toth said he isn’t sure what would happen if the owner does not come forward. “We can’t keep her here forever,” he said.“We have another cat right here with the same problem. We’ve been trying to find her owner, but she’s still here. She’s been here for several weeks.”If the cat at Ettrick belongs to you, or if you are interested in taking on the responsibility of adopting her, telephone 236-0007.
