Road closures for tomorrow’s boat parade released
Motorists should expect road closures in Hamilton tomorrow as the city plays host to the Christmas boat parade.The closures are designed to accommodate the large number of spectators anticipated on Front Street.According to a City of Hamilton spokeswoman, Point Pleasant Road at Albuoy’s Point will close from 4pm until 9pm.She added that the following areas will close from 3pm until 9pm:n the South side of Front Street, from Parliament Street to Point Pleasant Road;n Point Pleasant Road and Albuoy’s Point;n Number 1 and Number 5 car parks.Access will be granted to vehicles transporting the elderly and the disabled, and some seating will be available.Horse-drawn carriages will not be allowed access to the horse canopy and taxis will not be permitted to use the Number 1 car park taxi stand as licensed food vendors will be operating there from 5pm until 9.30pm.Motorists are encouraged to park in the City Hall car park, Par-La-Ville car park, Elliott Street car park or Bulls Head car park.Added the spokeswoman: “The City apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
