Charity walk will support young people

A youth education organisation is urging supporters to sign up for a charity walk to help raise funds to support young people.New Beginnings Education Trust wants people to participate in the Argus Walks the Walk event on Sunday, February 26, starting at 8.30am at City Hall.Founding Trustee Kerry Judd said those who sign up in support of the Trust will be walking in aid of much-needed education grants for young people who have completed personal development programmes such as Mirrors and Raleigh International. She said: “If ever there was a time to rally around the young people of our Island, now is that time. We have several hundred young people in Bermuda who are focused on turning their lives around through education and other personal development opportunities.“They have chosen to create goals for themselves and more importantly attain them. We cannot allow lack of funding to slow them down.”Those who want to walk in support of the Trust should identify New Beginnings Education Trust (charity #864) as the recipient charity, select the New Beginnings team and choose the ‘Most Spirit’ prize when signing up at www.racedayworld.com.The sign-up fee is $25, with $20 going toward the work of the Trust, such as education grants and the Mirrors community programmes.Anyone who is unable to walk but still wants to make a financial contribution can call Ms Judd on 292-1036 or e-mail newbeginningstrust[AT]northrock.bm.
