Police officer’s shock death

Bermuda Police Service last night announced the shock death of police constable Sandy Rowe.

Ms Rowe, a Jamaican, died in hospital overseas yesterday, according to a statement from Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva.

“It is with great sadness that I report the untimely passing of our colleague and friend, Police Constable Sandy Rowe, who was in hospital overseas at the time of her death,” said Mr DeSilva.

“The cause of her death is not clear at this time, but the news comes as a shock.

“Sandy joined us in February 2007 as a trained police officer from her home in Jamaica. I have asked my colleagues to keep her family in our thoughts and prayers as they cope with their extremely sad loss.”
