Traffic restrictions in Hamilton

Front Street will be partially closed on Sunday, March 18, between the ferry terminal and Bermudiana Road.

A Corporation of Hamilton spokeswoman said the closure was due to resurfacing work.

“Paving will be done in the eastbound lane only, on the north side. The westbound lane will be accessible while work is in progress,” she said.

“Eastbound traffic will be diverted north at Woodbourne Avenue to Gorham Road. Motorists are asked to use caution in this area.”

She added: “The public is reminded that work continues at the Court Street and Front Street junction as preparations are being made to move the entrance of the Hamilton docks from its current location to create a four-way intersection. Work is in progress to install traffic lights at Court and Front Streets. The City will keep the public informed as progress continues at this site.”

She apologised for any inconvenience the roadworks may cause.
