Seniors can take advantage of free 20-minute consultations with lawyers at an Age Concern event tomorrow. The charity will once again link up with law firm MJM for its annual legal clinic, at its Point Finger base.Consultations with lawyers on a range of topics are available at 1.30pm, with a two-hour general session on wills and estate planning beginning at 2.30pm. Issues such as power of attorney will also be discussed.Age Concern director Claudette Fleming said: “We think given the climate that this type of information is tremendously important for both seniors and their caregivers.“In particular, caregivers need to understand the rights and the intentions of those they are carrying for so as not to inadvertently run afoul of the law or their relatives.”The seminar is open to seniors and their caregivers alike, from ages 50 years and older. It is free to all Age Concern members and non-members can join Age Concern once they arrive. Pre-registration can be conducted over the phone by calling 238-7525.
