Visitor praises Good Samaritans who came to assist, including Attorney General

Good Samaritan, Kim Wilson

Attorney General Kim Wilson has been praised by a visiting Bermuda vacationer for coming to her aid after she suffered a road accident. In a letter sent to the Editor of this newspaper, Annette Ferrier of Yorkshire, England said: “I was lucky enough to be greatly helped by a number of passing motorists who called an ambulance and looked after me.”Touched by the warm response to her ordeal, Ms Ferrier also singled out Attorney General Kim Wilson and resident Peter Mahoney, who jumped to her aid shortly after the accident.“Bermudians must see plenty of tourist in this kind of accident but throughout I felt only genuine care and concern from all involved.” said Ms Ferrier. “My souvenir of Bermuda will not be the scar on my leg but the strong memories of the kindness showed to me by the lovely people of Bermuda,” and for that she issued “many, many thanks”.The accident occurred around noon on Harbour Road in Paget on April 27.When contacted by The Royal Gazette, Ms Wilson confirmed that she was one of many who stopped to help Ms Ferrier. Ms Wilson jokingly said she is “Red Cross certified”.“The funny thing is that I was late to attend a speaking engagement in Somerset, I guess this will confirm that I truly was late for a good reason,” said Ms Wilson and she added, modestly playing down her role: “This is really not newsworthy as I would stop to assist anyone who was in an accident.”
