A 22-year-old Southampton man who fell from the side of a Front Street building during July 4 revelry has been released from hospital, according to police.And Cafe Cairo proprietor Frank Arnold insisted the accident didn’t involve occupants of his establishment.“He tried to enter and was refused based on how he was dressed,” Mr Arnold told The Royal Gazette. “He went to the side of the building and tried to climb up the wall, and as a result of that, he fell.”Police and medics responded at 11.30pm, after the victim dropped to the pavement near Chancery Lane.Initial reports suggested he had climbed onto an ornate metal archway at the lane’s southern entrance.Mr Arnold said it was against the law to scale the wall, but added: “I have seen a couple of fellows trying to do the same thing.”He continued: “Supposedly, what happened around the same time was a group of other guys who had been trying to get in started arguing in the street, and there was a scrap. None of them were in Cafe Cairo.”The business owner said he wasn’t in town but had been informed by a manager.Mr Arnold also said he had been informed by the injured man’s cousin that the victim sustained a broken wrist.
