Soldiers donate to Toys for Tots programme

Santa Claus in camouflage?

The Bermuda Regiment recently donated 60 toys to Coldwell Banker’s Toys for Tots programme.

The Regiment’s full-time staff usually participates in an internal gift exchange. This year they decided to give to a good cause.

Warrant Officer Second Class Jason Harrell said: “No one joins the military to serve themselves. If they do, they have a short career. It was completely a group decision, and one that everyone supported.

“Many people are suffering economically right now, and children often have to go without, which is unfortunate.

“Being in the Bermuda Regiment isn’t always about hurricane relief and international security, it’s about helping our Island in any way we are able and this request support required a teddy bear, not a riot shield.”
