Burrows Lightbourn donates to Let Us Drive programme
Burrows Lightbourn Ltd will continue to fund a programme aimed at curbing drunk driving in Bermuda.
CADA Chairman Anthony Santucci announced yesterday that the company would provide $10,000 toward sponsorship of the Let Us Drive programme this year.
The programme provides free taxis from outside the LOM Building in Hamilton between 3.15am and 3.45am on Saturdays.
Mr Santucci thanked the company for the donation.
“To date, the service has taken home some 8,500 people. With their ongoing support, Burrows Lightbourn ensures that people who have been out drinking late on a Friday night have a free, safe and reliable alternative to drinking and driving.”
The programme is just one of several organised by CADA, including a Life Skills programme for young people and the bartender certification course TIPS.
Burrows Lightbourn COO Derek Emery said: “Part of the responsible marketing of our brands is to ensure that people enjoying our product are provided with safe transportation to their destination.
“We thank CADA for their ongoing administration and organisation of the Let Us Drive service. We also thank the taxi drivers who show up to take the patrons home. We know lives are being saved.”
