A group of Pembroke seniors enjoyed food, prizes and music this weekend courtesy at a tea party, thrown by the Pembroke West Central PLP Branch.
A total of 40 seniors gathered at the Pembroke Community Club for the event on Saturday, which featured a surprise musical performance by Shine Hayward.
A special award was given to the oldest person in attendance, Doris Corbin who is 100 years of age.
Area MP David Burt said yesterday: “It is a pleasure to entertain our seniors every year at this event. The members of our branch work extremely hard to hold this programme every year.
“We doubled our turnout from last year and look forward to growing the event so that it becomes and annual staple for the seniors in our area.”
