Tourist injured after boat runs aground

A US woman is recovering in hospital after a private boat struck an island in Hamilton Harbour.
The 23ft
Sea Lion ran aground on Saltus Island with eight aboard at 1.15am yesterday, leaving a 61-year-old US woman hurt.
The boat has since been removed from the island.
Meanwhile a 59-year-old US man has been flown overseas for treatment after a rental cycle crash.
His wife, a pillion passenger, got minor injuries in Friday’s 11.30am accident on South Shore Road, Paget, near Honey Hill.
And a 26-year-old visitor is also stable in the Intensive Care Unit after he was injured along the same stretch of road.
His motorcycle and a car collided at 7.30pm near the junction with Harvey Road.
Witnesses to either crash are asked to call police at 295-0011.
