American airlifted for treatment after bike accident

An American man involved in a traffic collision on Friday has been airlifted off the Island for medical treatment.
The 59-year-old was riding a rental cycle on South Road in Paget near Honey Hill when the single-vehicle accident occurred at around 11.30am.
His wife, who was the pillion passenger on the vehicle, suffered minor injuries.
A Police spokesman said inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Christopher Brady on 295-0011.
