5K obstacle race planned for St George’s

An obstacle race through the streets of St George’s is now open for contestants — all in the name of charity.

The 5km Urban Foot Race, which is the second instalment of the Bermuda Triple Challenge fundraiser, will see teams of two racing through the Old Town on April 28.

The exact nature of the obstacles is to be kept a mystery until race day, when teams set out from Barrack Hill at 7.45am.

The St George’s event follows on from last month’s Island Challenge along South Shore.

And the Royal Challenge, set for October 12, takes place in Dockyard.

Organisers Reid Robinson and Jason Correia created the Triple Challenge with Island Challenge founder Aideen Ratteray Pryse. Participants in all three events will be eligible to win the overall Triple Challenge.

The Urban Foot Race will benefit the St George’s Prep PTA, Bermuda Sea Cadets of St George’s, and East End Primary PTA.

Participants of 14 and over can sign up at www.racedayworld.com, and download sponsor forms from www.urbanfootrace.bm.
