Cruise ship returns twice with sick passengers

The vessel left Bermuda as planned on Friday evening but was back in the early hours of Saturday to bring a sick passenger to shore. A pilot boat met the cruise ship off the east end in order to ferry the passenger to hospital.
Carnival Splendor was then forced to return again on Saturday evening when, 60 miles out to sea, a second passenger became ill.
A pilot boat was called out again and, once the passenger had been transferred, the cruise ship remained in Bermuda waters.
She berthed at Dockyard yesterday morning and finally left the Island for New York yesterday afternoon.
