Veterinary office planned for Paget property

First Prev 1 2 Next Last

Plans to turn a Paget home into a veterinary office have been submitted to the Department of Planning.

The planning application, submitted by the Silver Moon Trust, would turn the basement level of the house ‘Netherlands’ on The Lane into a veterinary office for the Bermuda Feline Assistance Bureau.

The application stated: “Cats will be housed in the building in acoustically insulated rooms. No cats or other animals will be housed in external kennels.”

In addition to the acoustically insulated cat ward and isolation area, the basement level will contain two examination rooms and a grooming room.

The ground floor of the property will be adapted into a family veterinarian office with a lobby area, office, treatment room, exam room, surgery and radiology area.

The upper level will remain residential, with the three apartments already there left unchanged.

And, according to the application, exterior changes to the building would be minimal, with the car park expanded to allow room for 11 cars and 12 motorcycles.

The Silver Moon Trust previously applied successfully for a proposed change of use for the site from a residential dwelling to doctors’ offices, while Corrine Tungate applied for in principle approval for a new medical facility on the property.

The application is available for public viewing at the Department of Planning offices in the Dame Lois Browne Evans building.

Plans have been submitted to turn part of the ‘Netherlands’ property in Paget into a veterinary office.
