BF&M donates $250k to KEMH redevelopment

The Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust has received a $250,000 donation from BF&M.

The funds will be put towards the redevelopment of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital into a “world-class hospital facility” by next year.

BHCT is leading a capital campaign to raise $40 million towards the cost of the $247 million redevelopment of KEMH.

“We thank BF&M for supporting the Why it Matters capital campaign with this generous donation,” said BHCT chairman Philip Butterfield. “It’s so inspiring to see businesses in the community like BF&M recognise the significance of this campaign and the KEMH redevelopment project.

“As the completion date gets closer, we look forward to the positive impact the enhanced hospital facility will have on Bermuda.”

Patients and visitors will benefit from a state-of-the-art medical facility and an exceptional standard of clinical practice and patient-centred care, he added.

“As the leading provider of health insurance in Bermuda, BF&M is pleased to donate $250,000 to the Trust in respect of a new facility that we can all be proud of,” said BF&M president and CEO John Wight.

“BF&M has been fully supportive of the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust campaign to raise funds for this very worthwhile cause which will positively impact the general well-being of patients, families and staff.”
