Refuse collection changes due to holiday

Trash will be collected on two consecutive days in the east end this week due to the Bermuda Day holiday.

Household garbage in the east end will be collected tomorrow and on Wednesday this week due to the holiday on Friday.

Waste collection in the west end and the collection of recyclables across the Island will not be affected by the holiday. West end trash will be collected on Thursday, while recyclables collection will take place on May 30 in the west end and May 31 in the east.

A spokesman for the Waste Management Section of the Ministry of Public Works also asked the public to remember to bring waste and recycling bags when picnicking.

“By bagging waste and recyclables and placing them next to public bins Parks and Collections workers can more efficiently keep our beaches and Park areas clean for all to use,” the spokesman said.
