Harbour Nights gets a taste of the Highlands
Harbour Nights will get a taste of Scotland as part of the build-up to this weekend’s Highland Games.The MacKenzie School of Dance will do a short performance at Harbour Nights tomorrow, to give everyone a sample of the dancing that will take place at the event.Some of the performers that will be featured at the Bermuda Highland Games will then provide a lunchtime interlude on the steps of City Hall on Friday. The Schiehallion Dancers, the MacKenzie School of Dance and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Dancers will appear after noon.The Schiehallion Dancers and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pipe Band will also make an appearance at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess’ happy hour later that day.They’ll then perform at a ceilidh immediately after the event, with an authentic Scottish ceilidh band.Major sponsors at this year’s event include Bermuda Department of Tourism, Hiscox Bermuda, Belco, Jardine Matheson, Gosling’s and The Royal Gazette.The second annual Bermuda Highland Games is set to begin at 2.30pm on Saturday at Saltus Field.
