Mirrors Programme to hold open house

The Mirrors Programme will be hosting an open house this Friday to give members of the public an opportunity to meet the team, volunteers and participants. The open house will run from 10am to 7pm on the first floor at Global House to showcase the services offered by the programme, which is aimed at coaching and mentoring young adults.Members of the public will have the opportunity to engage with present and past volunteers as well as participants who will share their experiences and answer questions. There will also be presentations by the Mirrors team.Participants will also hear “compelling life stories” of how the Mirrors Programme is “transforming the lives of its participants”, to “dispel the stigma that this programme is only for troubled youths”.Programme coordinator Kimberley Jackson said it will give the public “a flavour for who we are, what we do and how we do it”.“With the recent launch of our website and the analysis of the data that we have been collecting since 2007, we couldn’t be hosting this open house at a more opportune time.“We want to share this opportunity with Bermuda and the experiences of those who have volunteered and participated with us,” she added.Referral forms, volunteer applications and programme literature will be available to take away.To find out more about the open house and the Mirrors Programme visit their new website on www.mirrors.bm.
