Gazette team wins Premier’s Cup charity golf tournament

Two charities are set to share an estimated $14,000 raised from a charity golf tournament that was won by a team from The Royal Gazette yesterday.Teams taking part in the Premier’s Cup Charity Golf Tournament paid $1,000 to play, with the winning team picking the charities to benefit from the proceeds.Bermuda CableVision hosted the shotgun tournament at Port Royal Golf Course, which was eventually won by The Royal Gazette team consisting of Jaime Cann, Greg Covey, Greg Cody and Bob Legere. The team’s nominated charities were the Junior Golf Association and the Coalition for the Protection of Children.Other teams who took part in the competition included one headed by Premier Craig Cannonier, and teams representing Bermuda Telephone Company, CellOne, Link Bermuda, Island Construction, Digicel Bermuda and DeFontes Broadcasting Company.
