Praise for child sex abuse charity

The child sex abuse charity SCARS got a commendation from Attorney General Mark Pettingill — who detailed taking the group’s ‘Darkness to Light’ workshop before the House of Assembly.

Saying that sex abuse is becoming “increasingly prevalent in Bermuda”, Mr Pettingill also praised the high attendance of the workshop.

The “overwhelming majority” of victims were abused by a family member, family friend or mentor figure, he added.
