Police plea in Smith case

One year after Rudy Smith’s disappearance, police investigating his presumed murder have launched a renewed appeal for information.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro yesterday called on “the people that know what happened to come forward and help us catch these killers”.

“Over the past year, his family, friends and loved ones have been living with the pain of not knowing what has happened to their son,” he said. “I would ask each and every member of the public to put themselves in their unimaginable position especially that of his mother Madeline Rampersad.”

Anyone with possible information can speak confidentially with the Serious Crime Unit at 247-1185. The anonymous and confidential Crimestoppers hotline can be reached at 800-8477.
