A charity dedicated to helping needy families has found itself tackling another type of challenge — illegal dumping outside its headquarters.Fern Wade, of the Hands of Love Ministry, said that for several months an unknown culprit has been dumping garbage outside the charity’s office on Camp Hill.“We just finished cleaning up the area and now there’s piping, plastic, buckets, all sorts of stuff,” she said. “I’ve not seen who is doing it, but I was told it was a white truck.“It’s been going on for a couple of months now. I have been cleaning the area myself, just trying to keep the area beautiful but it’s getting to be too much for one person. It’s not nice.“KBB had a cleanup in April. They did very good, and other groups have also helped out. I know two schools have been cleaning it up as well, but this is a mess.”* To report illegal dumping, contact the Department of Waste Management at 297-7953.
