TV exposure for treasure recovery company

The treasure hunting company run by former Premier David Saul is once again in the media spotlight after recovering a record-breaking haul of silver ingots at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc will feature on the popular NBC television programme The Today Show this morning after completing a successful second search of the Second World War merchant ship Gairsoppa, which was sunk by a German U-boat off the Irish coast in 1941.An OME search of the vessel last year recovered 48 tons of silver — a world record at the time. But Dr Saul’s company has now “bumped up the bar” by salvaging the remaining 60 tons.According to company CEO Mark Gordon, a typical recovery rate of 85 percent of the cargo from a sunken ship is considered successful. This effort recovered all but 25 of the original 2,817 silver bars — a 99 percent recovery rate.
