Bermuda’s own Lil Quan has won tonight's round of the BET hit show ‘106 & Park’ in New York.The young rapper was supported by local artist Coshaun, from the group Dem Bies, in the live competition.The two took 66 percent of the vote on the show.Lil Quan, whose real name is Jeremiah Steede, told The Royal Gazette: “It was really worth it. I can come back for the next round.”His manager Jonathan Talbot was just as excited: “I couldn’t believe it,” he said.Lil Quan and Coshaun performed a hip-hop/R&B segment on the show. Lil Quan dressed in a shirt featuring the Bermuda flag for the event.“It was a great experience,” Coshaun said.The prize comes with $2,500 plus a chance to return for the finals – and a shot at performing with US artist Diggy Simmons.The group planned to go out and celebrate with pizza.They thanked the Bermuda Department of Tourism and the Bermuda Arts Council for their support, plus Mambo clothes for Lil Quan’s Bermuda-themed outfit.
