Singing for other people’s supper

Bermuda CableVision is to host a gospel concert next month in support of its ongoing food drive, Open Hands Loving Hearts. The organisation launched the programme in April in response to a need it saw in the community.“Since then, dozens of schools and several businesses and churches across Bermuda have participated by collecting food items and placing them in CableVision’s ‘big blue barrels’ at various locations around the Island,” a spokeswoman said. The food is then distributed to charitable organisations in need. The gospel concert will take place at National Stadium on September 1 at 6pm.It will include performances by various gospel artists and choirs.Admission is free but those attending are asked to donate at least three non-perishable food items. The Bermuda Conference of Seventh-day Adventists will host a health fair at 3pm at National Stadium on the same day.
