A Bermudian man has been jailed for five years after he was caught with drugs at an airport in Trinidad and Tobago.

Che Pennyman pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced on Friday, according to a report in the Trinidad Express.

"Officers of the Organised Crime, Narcotics and Firearms Bureau on patrol at the Piarco International Airport acting on a tip-off apprehended a Bermudian national and after searching his belongings including a black laptop bag, found two silver and black packages concealed within the lining containing a total of 2.10 kilograms of drugs," the newspaper reported.

"The man, Che [Pennyman], was arrested and taken before an Arima magistrate last Friday where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years in prison."
