Come and celebrate Caribbean Wellness Day

Members of the public are invited to ‘Celebrate Wellness’ tomorrow at Victoria Park in celebration of Caribbean Wellness Day 2013, recognised on September 14.The theme this year focuses on youth between 15 and 29 years to promote ‘Strengthening the Health of our Youth for a Brighter Future’.The event, which kicks off at 5pm through to 8pm, is designed to encourage residents to “move more” as part of the ongoing ‘Move More Bermuda Campaign’ for healthy lifestyles.There will be activities for children and adults, attendees are advised to wear comfortable clothing and footwear.A number of dance groups will be on hand with the Gymnastics Association, jump rope teams, and the Bermuda Institute Steel Band with a host of displays.It is open to members of the public of all ages and it is free.There will be free health screenings, giveaways and health information as well as demonstrations including Zumba, Jazzercise, Nordic Walking, Crossfit and skateboarding.Food vendors will also serving healthy food options.For more information e-mail healthpromotion@gov.bm or call 278-6504 or 278-6500.
