Three share $10,000 in scholarship awards from Stevedoring Services
A local company has dished out $10,000 in scholarships to three of its employees' children.
Stevedoring Services issues the awards each year to help with the costs of academic pursuits.
The 2013 winners are Leiah Tuzo, Kiara Wilkinson and Erika Cabral.
Leiah Tuzo, 27, received $7,000 to go towards her master of science degree in counselling at the University of the West Indies in Barbados.
She is the daughter of Lorenzo Burnett, assistant maintenance manager and an employee at Stevedoring Services for 28 years.
Kiara Wilkinson, 18, received $2,000 towards her degree programme in criminology at Kingston University in London, England, where she is in her second year.
She is the daughter of Kimothy Wilkinson, superintendent and an employee of the company for 15 years.
Erika Cabral, 26, received $1,000, which will go towards her fourth year in a business administration degree programme at Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Canada, in association with Bermuda College.
Ms Cabral is the daughter of Paul Moniz, who has worked with Stevedoring Services for three years and is a holdman.
