Celebrating our police
Police Week 2013 will officially get underway on Saturday under the theme of ‘Building Community Confidence Through Engagement'.
The Bermuda Police Service will host a series of events through to October 12, including the popular Police Gymkhana at Police Field on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
A special Inter-Faith Service will be held on Sunday at CedarBridge Academy's cafeteria.
Other events on tap include a display at Police Field in Prospect, Devonshire from 11am to 3pm next Tuesday, October 8.
There's also a Seniors Tea at noon the same day at Devonshire Recreation Club with an open house at the Somerset and Southside Police Stations on Wednesday.
There's also a Beating of the Retreat Ceremony planned for 8pm on Front Street in Hamilton on October 9.
And there's a Police Memorial Ceremony slated for Thursday, October 10 at 11am at the Military Cemetery behind Alexandra Road in Devonshire.
A Police spokesman said: “We encourage members of the public to come out and participate in this celebration of 134 years of policing in Bermuda.”
