Injured rider moved out of intensive care

The 29-year-old Pembroke man seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday night has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit.

A hospital spokeswoman said he is now on a general ward where his condition is listed as stable.

The accident occurred around 8.30pm on South Road in Paget, just west of the entrance to Coral Beach Club when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a rental cycle.

A police spokesman said he suffered internal injuries as a result of the collision. The rider of the rental cycle, a 52-year-old Warwick woman, suffered a broken wrist.

Police are still appealing for the rider of a second motorcycle that was travelling west, as was the injured 29-year-old Pembroke man, at the time of the collision to contact police.

Anyone with any information regarding this collision is encouraged to contact PC Milen Simons on 295-0011.
