Youth football coach Clive Taylor was honoured this morning for more than 30 years of work with young people.“It’s just something I do,” he said when presented with a Bermuda CableVision Community Service Award. “I wasn’t expecting this, but I feel honoured to be up here.”Mr Taylor started working with Boulevard Community Club in 1977 as his predecessor, Mel Lodge, needed help running the youth programme.Since then, he has acted as both a coach and a mentor for young people in the programme, chaperoning teams when travelling abroad, and even working with participants’ teachers to make sure that they are on the right path.Minister of Community, Culture and Sports Wayne Scott thanked Mr Taylor for his contributions to the community.“I think that as a community in Bermuda we really need people like yourself to help with the building of our youth,” he said.“Without the time of people such as yourself, I think Bermuda would be in a much worse place.”Bermuda CableVision also presented Boulevard Community Club with a $1,000 donation to help fund the youth programme football team.
