Show focuses on how to stage a party

The party secrets of Hamilton will go on display at a public trade show to be held this Saturday. The Entertainment Trade Show is presenting “anything to do with planning an event, from a children’s birthday party to a corporate event”, said City of Hamilton events and marketing coordinator Thomas Lightbourne.Companies ranging from Great Sound to Class Action Designs and Premier Tickets will take over a retail space in the new Washington Mall to showcase how to make an event great.Mr Lightbourne said: “Over the years we’ve gotten numerous calls about our events, from people wanting to know who did what for us. Every year in our brainstorming, this comes up. We decided to throw this event and let the public know where to access these vendors and get deals.”The City’s Fashion Festival, Food Festival and Summer Sundays events have all required catering, music and decorations. From 11am to 6pm, the companies that help make these events happen — plus others entertainment and party businesses — will take over the vacant store behind Beluga bar in Washington Mall, as well as the City Hall lawns.
