Teacher knocked pupil out
A middle school student reportedly blacked out while taking part in a martial arts demonstration that went wrong.
Details of the incident have not been revealed, but the Education Ministry has confirmed that “disciplinary action has been taken” against the staff member, who was employed at Clearwater Middle School.
The Royal Gazette understands that the teacher was demonstrating a martial arts move on the student, who at one point lost consciousness.
An Education Ministry spokesman said: “The Ministry of Education is aware of the incident and took immediate steps to address the situation.
“We share the concerns of parents and can advise that the necessary disciplinary action has been taken with the employee in question. It should be noted that the employee has not returned to the school premises.”
