Speaking engagements in Bahamas for Dame Jennifer

Dame Jennifer Smith

Former Premier Dame Jennifer Smith is due to speak at a series of events in the Bahamas this week as the country marks National Women’s Week.

Dame Jennifer will speak at the College of The Bahamas, address female parliamentarians at a special luncheon and be a speaker at a Women’s Summit at the British Colonial Hilton.

Dame Jennifer will later accompany Bahama’s Minister of Social Services and Community Development, Melanie Griffin, to Grand Bahama to meet with female students, and address women at a luncheon at the Pelican Bay Hotel.

According to The Bahamas Weekly, Mrs Griffin said that while women in the Bahamas had made great strides, there were still issues that must be addressed to further the advancement.

“I am delighted that Dame Jennifer Smith will be our special guest for National Women’s Week as she will participate in a number of speaking engagements with particular focus on women in governance,” she said.
