British hairdresser charged with $60,000 cannabis importation

A 24-year-old British hairdresser has been charged with importing more than a pound of cannabis resin into Bermuda with intent to supply.

Guest worker Lauren Davis was remanded into custody at Magistrates’ Court yesterday after she denied two charges: one of importing $60,000 worth of the drug and one of possessing it with intent to supply.

If convicted, the former Strands employee could face anywhere from two months to two years imprisonment for the offences.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned her trial until January 8.
