Temporary road closures for weekend races

The Ministry of Public Works has warned the public of a raft of temporary road closures for the Bermuda Marathon Weekend.

Sections of Parson’s Road, Montpelier Road, Middle Road, Frog Lane, Old Military Road, and Gymnasium Road will be closed to traffic starting at 8.45am today for the Bermuda International 10K Race and Charity Walk.

Parsons Road between Roberts Avenue and Montpelier Road will reopen at 10.15am, as will Montpelier Road between Parsons Road and Middle Road and the stretch of Middle Road leading from Corkscrew Hill to Verdmont Road.

Frog Lane meanwhile will be closed between Palmetto Road and Parsons Road until 11am, as will Old Military Road between Parson’s Road and Frog Lane.

Gymnasium Road between Frog Lane and Headquarters Hill will remain closed until 11.30am.

North Shore Road will also see limited traffic. While the eastbound lane will remain open, the westbound lane between Flatts and the Barkers Hill Roundabout will remain closed between 9am and 11am.

Parking on the aforementioned sections of Parsons Road, Frog Lane, Montpelier Road and Gymnasium Road will be prohibited between 8am and 11am, along with Flatts Village and Fort Hill Road between Alexander Road and Gymnasium Road.

Several roads in Hamilton will meanwhile close briefly on Sunday morning for the Bermuda International Marathon and Half-Marathon. Crow Lane will be closed from Spurling Hill to the City of Hamilton’s eastern boundary for one hour starting at 7.30am, as will Corkscrew Hill.

Trimingham Road meanwhile will be closed to southbound traffic between 8am and 9am.
