Clinic closures due to flooding

Health clinics in Somerset and Warwick have been closed by the Department of Health after heavy rain caused flooding at the facilities.

“In order to ensure a safe clinic and to allow the Works staff to carry out the necessary repairs to the buildings’ roofs the Department will temporarily close both clinics,” said a Department spokeswoman.

“The Department of Health apologises for any inconvenience this may cause. We will notify the public when the clinics are back in operation.”

As a result of the closure, “Baby Clinic” usually held at the Warwick Clinic between 2pm and 4pm will instead take place at St Marys Church Hill starting on Monday.

Those who would use the “Dental Clinic” at the Somerset Clinic are instead asked to call the Oral Health Programme in Hamilton at 278-6440.

Instead of visiting the “Womens Clinic” at the Somerset Clinic on Tuesday morning, members of the public can contact the Hamilton Clinic at 278-6441.

And those who would take part in the “Baby Clinic” at the Somerset Clinic on Friday afternoons can call the Hamilton Clinic at 278-6460.
